Below is our mission: The future of rural regions in developing countries depends upon the quality of education imparted to our children. For example, we have 40,000 Government Primary Schools and 3,000 Government High Schools in India. We believe that it is the joint responsibility of the Government and citizens to improver school education, to provide incentives like mid-day meals, improve school infrastructure including state of the art information technology to all the Government schools.
Over 90% of the budget for School Education in India is spent on salaries to Government primary and secondary school teachers and as grant-in-aid to aided institutions, leaving very little for development of infrastructure in government schools. There are an estimated 2.5 million children who are not enrolled or dropped out from schools and, even as efforts are being made to bring them to school, the need for additional resources has been growing rapidly.
Activities:
We have begun the planning process of transforming school education in India by the active involvement of volunteers through the “School Adoption Application” that lists the potential schools for adoption. Once the application is launched there will be social and collaboration, tracking and responsibility aspects to make the initiative a success.
Educate, create awareness, and encourage rural youth in the field of computer science so they can take a career in a STEM related field.
Identifying schools as and when we get the opportunity to visit rural regions.
Application/portal for people to adopt a rural elementary school that lacks the basics is in requirements phase.
